This week I"m going to share a little make over with you. I bought this chair several years ago, I actually liked it back when I bought it, and WOW has my taste changed.
So instead of selling it I decided to change it up a bit, that was only after it sat in my garage for several years.
I've never painted any "thing" big, like FURNITURE.
I love it! I just need a find a place to put it. I seriously have an addiction with chairs...
And that little cutie who snuck into the picture is one of two little cuties we recently adopted.
Meet Sylvester & his brother Dexter (just like the mischievous monkey on Night at the Museum).
Since I was on a roll with my chair redo I decided to finally do something about these barstools. Remember, I bought them off craigslist back in November 2009, you can see that post here! I couldn't turn down the great deal (knowing they were never going to fit properly under my counter). They've sat in my garage ever since. That was until last week, I had hubby cut the legs down 5 inches. Now they fit perfectly under my counter! I measured one leg then used a level to mark the other 3! Hopefully I've inspired someone out in blogland to tackle their pile of furniture in their garage. You will be surprised with what you come up with! Plus you'll make your hubby happy to get his garage back. Thank you so much for stopping by! If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment!

Lovin this chair...it just needs a little Crimson (ROLL TIDE!) If your not a football fan, then I am rambling, but if you are then you know that the Alabama Crimson Tide is all about Crimson and, black and white houndstooth. LoVe it!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! It's amazing what some paint can do! Thanks for stopping by Hating Martha! Glad I could pop over. P.s. Love the pic you are using for your background...gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteVery classy! I love houndstooth. Those kittens look adorable, too:)
ReplyDeleteNice job on the chair! I'm working up the nerve to do some "chair renovations" myself. I love the houndstooth. Always so classy. Can't tell from the picture, but if the oval in the back is painted, maybe that'd be a good spot for your monogram?
ReplyDeleteGreat makeover, I love the black and houndstooth, very classy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a transformation! Love your choices on the chair, and those barstools are to die for!
ReplyDeleteLove the transformation. It's all about seeing the bones of something then being able to put paint and fabric together. You have a great eye!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job on your chair! Love your fabric choice!
ReplyDeleteVery nice transformation! Great idea on the bar stools! Now they are worth a lot to you!
ReplyDeleteThe chair looks sooo good painted and reupholstered. It is nice what a bit of paint can do!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I have a chair fetish as well -- my husband has to keep me walking especially if he finds a lone chair . . . for I keep thinking it wants me to adopt it!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour chair turned out great! And, bonus, your new kittens match! : ) I know it can be scary because you always wonder if you are making a mistake. I know I always let out a "whew!" when I'm done!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Met Monday! : )
nice job! I do believe that would look perfect in my music room if you ever get tired of it! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis has to be the best chair makeover I've seen! I love the fabric choice and the black. The chair was really nice to start with. The barstools are nice too. Do you have any ideas for making a dining room side table taller (it stands on four legs)?

Your chair is incredibly chic now!!! Beautiful job! Did you pick out the kittens to match or was that just a coincidence? NEVER thought to cut legs off of anything, but it's absolutely brilliant!
