Laundry Room Make Over

Happy New Year!
Thanks for stopping by!
I can finally mark this off my list...
I wimped out and went safe.
What do you think?
Laundry Room 2012
I'm seriously in love,
It took me over 2 hours to tape up the walls,
but I think it was all worth it.
I even convinced my husband to replace the light.
I pulled off the center cabinet doors to breakup the long wall of cabinets.
And added a few accessories which I had in other areas of the house.
 It went from this...
To this...

Here are some pointers.
1. Use a level to mark your stripes. I started from the ceiling down. (Because new homes are completed in less than a month the ceiling is not always perfectly straight).
2. After you tape off your stripes, paint the tape with the first color before starting your second color. (This will minimize 99% off touch ups you'll have to make).
3. Butter up your hubby so he can do all the painting for you.

Thanks for visiting!

  3. You laundry room looks great; it is usually a room that gets overlooked, but I love when people fix them up. It makes laundry so much more exciting. I'm considering making over mine once I cross off some other things on that growing list:)

I love the way yours looks! And what a great idea to take the doors off those cabinets! It really opens it up and allows you to add a little bit of cutesy decor in there! Nice work! 2. I forgot to answer your other question, your going to paint your room with your light color first. Then you'll measure and tape off your stripes. When your done taping paint over all the tape that you put on for the stripes. So your going to cover the tape in the light paint. By doing this your light paint color will seap through the tape and basically seal it. That way when you start your dark color (or stripe color) it will not seap through the tape. I hope this helps
